Questions

Is there really a free tier?
Yes — Free is $0 forever with no card. It's the seeded default plan every org starts on, with the full dashboard and unlimited services.
What counts as a series?
A distinct (service, endpoint, method) combination. Cardinality is the number of these tracked per tenant before new series are frozen — the limit that separates the tiers.
What happens if I hit my rate limit?
The ingest path enforces a per-tenant token bucket at your plan's req/s + burst. Excess is shed, never billed as overage — upgrade a tier to raise the ceiling.
Can I self-host instead?
The server is source-available under BSL 1.1 for non-competing use; the client and proto are MIT. Enterprise includes a supported self-host option.
